- I figured I needed to remember what it looked like. I
might forget where some of the big parts go.
- The wiring connections were not easily available
here, so I snipped the wires to the tail light.
I'm going to add connectors when re-assembling.
- Rear wheel and shocks off, next for the swing arm and shaft.
- Swing arm down, next to dismantle the battery compartment.
- What have I gotten myself into? Clearly, I'm over my head.
- Battery compartment and tool tray.
- This thing does not even look like a motorcycle anymore.
- Hmmm. Will this give me problems?
- Oh great. Now what. It only took me an hour to figure out
that the bottom bars on the frame come off. This makes the job a lot easier on me (and the frame paint).
- But I tried and tried to get that transmission out before
removing the frame rails.
- Now.. After taking the frame rails out the motor fell on the ground chipping an oil pan cooling fin. Shit... What a bummer.
- Drive plate. There is a ton of crud in the clutch. I'm pretty sure that the main seal is leaking oil, causing the clutch to slip.
